Pa mis compays es una composición hecha en ritmo de joropo oriental, una de las variantes más representativas del joropo venezolano y que presenta notorias diferencias con el joropo llanero, género más extendido y conocido. El joropo oriental tiene entre sus características el uso de instrumentos melódicos como la mandolina, la bandola oriental, el violín o la cuereta (acordeón), acompañado del cuatro venezolano, las maracas y caja oriental. Aunque en la mayoría de los casos en el joropo oriental se canta, hay también un amplio repertorio de piezas instrumentales. En Pa mis compays se explota un recurso muy utilizado en este tipo de joropo, y es la interacción entre compases de 3/4 y 6/8, pasando por un compás de 4/4 para ir de 3 a 6, y de 2/4 para ir de 6 a 3. También tiene una sección final llamada “Estribillo”, muy característico del joropo oriental, donde los músicos improvisan y tienen total libertad. Este joropo está dedicado a los maestros Jorge Glem y Eddy Marcano, grandes músicos venezolanos exponentes del joropo oriental.

Pa mis compays (For my buddies), is a composition made in the rhythm of the eastern joropo (Joropo oriental), one of the most representative variants of the Venezuelan joropo and that presents notable differences with the joropo llanero (Plain’s joropo), a more well-known genre. The eastern joropo has among its characteristics the use of melodic instruments such as the mandolin, the oriental bandola, the violin or the cuereta (accordion), accompanied by the Venezuelan cuatro, the maracas and the Caja oriental (Drum). Although in most cases the eastern joropo is sung, there is also a large repertoire of instrumental pieces. In Pa mis compays a resource widely used in this type of joropo is exploited, and it is the interaction between beats of 3/4 and 6/8, passing through a beat of 4/4 to go from 3 to 6, and from 2/ 4 to go from 6 to 3. It also has a final section called “Estribillo”, very characteristic of the eastern joropo, where the musicians improvise and have total freedom. This joropo is dedicated to the masters Jorge Glem and Eddy Marcano, great Venezuelan musicians who are exponents of the eastern joropo.
